Can we use it just for hall hire, without running any classes?

Yes. Plenty of venues use ClassBase purely to take hall and room bookings with online payment. The class and register features are there if you want them, but nothing forces you to set up a single class.

Does ClassBase take a commission on our bookings?

No. ClassBase charges a flat monthly subscription. The only deduction from a booking is the standard card processing fee. There is no per-booking commission.

Can hirers let themselves in without us being there?

Yes. You store the gate code, key-safe code, parking notes and photos once, and they're delivered automatically the moment a booking is paid — so nobody has to be on-site to hand over keys.
